But Zacheus standing, said to the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wronged any man of any thing, I restore him fourfold. – Luke 19:8 9 (CPDV)

I noticed this sign recently while browsing the upstairs floor of an antique shop. It seems the maker of the sign had an experience where a lawyer misrepresented the truth for personal gain.
In Bible times, tax collectors were a mistrusted group because they often charged more than was owed in order to pad their own coffers. Zacheus was no different – until he met Jesus and experienced a "Behold, Lord" moment. Zacheus' encounter with the Savior was transformative and he promised to make reparation where he'd been deceitful and to start living with integrity and honesty!
Prayer
Jesus, no matter what our profession, may we each Behold You. Enable us to change and grow as a result of encountering You.
Quote
It is not he who begins well who is perfect. It is he who ends well who is approved in God's sight. // St. Basil the Great (330-379)
Thought
The thief on the cross beheld the Lord and believed. He ended well.
