Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.
– Matthew 5:4 (RSV)
Are you grieving a significant loss? Feel like you're in a twilight zone while the rest of the world goes along as normal?
Allow yourself the necessary time and space to grieve.
Ignore any critical voices of those unable to understand. Know that the Lord sees you and wants to comfort your hurting heart. Let Him meet you within the darkness and cloak you with His loving care.
Prayer
Lord, please bring solace to those who are grieving right now. Show them clear signs of Your loving presence.
Quotes
Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything. // C.S. Lewis (1898-1963)
The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.
// Henri Nouwen (1932-1996)
Reflection
Are you grieving right now? Be still and know that He is God. If you're not grieving, say a prayer for someone who is.

Is someone you know grieving? Consider sharing this devotion with that individual.
