Churchyard Contemplation

See that you fulfill the ministry that you received in the Lord.

Colossians 4:17 (NAB)

Death's door remains open for each of us at our set time. Every grave marks a life that has passed. Was it a life that fulfilled its ministry appointed by the Lord?

Let us make the most of our days here on earth – for our own sake, for the good of others, and for the glory of God. Each morning offers new opportunities with new mercies promised.

Prayer

Lord, help me to remember the brevity of life and not fritter away my time in excess leisure or consumption. Allow me to stay in tune with You, thus accomplishing Your purposes in me and through me.

Quote

"Contemplation of the lives of those who have followed Christ encourages us to lead a good, upright Christian life so that we can prepare ourselves each day for eternal life."

//St. John Paul II

Thought

What does it mean to fulfill the ministry we have received in the Lord?

My first devotional book will be available soon! Minding Mom: A Caregiver's Devotional Story has 52 brief devotions based on the year I spent with my mom after my dad passed away unexpectedly. It will make a great gift for the caregiver you know. Check out my author's page: https://enroutebooksandmedia.com/mindingmom365/

"I love the blending of scripture, reflection, and real-life observations. Lisa’s very personal and insightful view sets Minding Mom apart from other books in this genre."
