Praise him, ye heavens of heavens. – Psalm 148:4 (DRB)
I didn't feel like staying up late.
And while I slept, brilliance burst forth - northern lights painted the sky - an unusual occurrence in Pennsylvania.
My husband once witnessed this wonder from an airplane. While those around him snoozed, he viewed the Aurora Borealis' magnificence as solar winds carrying charged electrons hit the earth's magnetic field.
Whether we are sleeping or gaping, God's miraculous phenomena still blaze.
Prayer
Lord, we praise You for amazing, astounding, beauty which is unmatched by anything human. Your wisdom and splendor never yield to sleep (Wis. 7:10).

Thought
What is the most spectacular sight you've ever seen when gazing at the night sky? Take a moment to praise God for His wonders.

Coming soon: Minding Mom 365: A Caregiver's Devotional Story, based on the 365 days that followed my dad's unexpected passing. Here's what one caregiver said after reading it:
"This is a heart-warming, gut-wrenching (in a good way), true life story that would touch all people. Caregivers can especially relate but death touches us all so everyone could benefit by reading this book. It isn't a one-time read either - definitely something that will be referred to often and a "go-to" in trying times for comfort." – Ave G., who retired early to care for her mother at home.
In case you didn't see my devotion last week in Guideposts' Strength & Grace magazine, I've pasted it here:
