As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God. – Psalm 42:1 (DRB)
The hart (adult male deer) looked robust, as if he didn't need a thing. And yet he was standing in the creek bed, a place of water. He was thirsty.
Like the hart, we experience dryness despite looking strong. Our hearts thirst for water, Living Water from the stream which never runs dry.
Prayer
Quench my thirsty soul from Your eternal stream, oh Lord. Look out from the window of heaven and find me seeking You.
Quote
The key to Christian living is a thirst and hunger for God. // John Piper
Reflection
Do you desire refreshment from God today? Ask Him to look upon you and pour out His living water into your heart and soul.
