And he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. – Revelation 7:17 (RSV)
There were about a hundred of us there for early mass. 6:30 a.m.
At the conclusion, we were asked to pray for a family whose two-year-old son would be laid to rest that day — to pray for strength and courage. One hundred people prayed.
I sat there, interceding, in a pew dedicated to another beloved child whose life was taken some fifty years earlier. More prayers offered. *
Prayer
Lord, we know not why You let tragedies happen. Help us keep the faith even when we don't understand. Tenderly bless and comfort all who mourn today. Let us weep with those who weep.
Quote
"I give thanks to Almighty God that He has not considered me unworthy to be the mother of a child admitted into the heavenly kingdom. Having left the world in the white robe of his innocence, he will rejoice in the presence of God through all eternity." // St. Clotilda (c. 474 - 545)
Reflect
Do you know someone mourning the loss of a beloved child, be it recent or historic? Lift them up in prayer now and often.
*This post is dedicated to the sister of that beloved child.

I was blessed to help produce the e-book, Unbound Unpacked, by Neal Lozano. This clergy-oriented synopsis of Unbound prayer ministry contains Neal's two talks, given in May 2024, in Rome.
Thank you for the dedication. This is a flawed world, but God's love is present.
