He has made everything beautiful in its time.
(Ecclesiastes 3:11 NRSV)
I'm receiving compliments on this homemade seasonal arrangement and I smile, because it was created using several old, broken things: Bamboo sticks found lying in the woods, cut with a rusty hand saw, dribbled with paint from a malfunctioning spray can, and a few cuttings of greens - greens so peripheral they will never be missed.
God, parts of my life feel old, broken and minor. Please make something beautiful out of them.
Let your old age be childlike, and your childhood like old age; that is, so that neither may your wisdom be with pride, nor your humility without wisdom. ~ St. Augustine
Reflect: Are there areas in your life that seem useless, beyond their prime, or on the fringes? Ask God to bring beauty from those very things.
