Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise.
– Ephesians 5:15 (NAB)
Three small ribbons on the upper part of the canvas show how accurately the sail is trimmed. They are called the "telltales." Sailors check these frequently, making adjustments in order to best harness the wind.
Our lives also have telltales - visible evidence of our current course. What are they showing us?
Prayer
Lord, reveal to me what my telltales are indicating. Guide me in making any needed changes.
Quote
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left.
// St. Patrick (ca. 377)
Reflection
What are the telltales in your life indicating? Make adjustments to remain aligned with God.

Thank YOU! Such a meaningful addition to the reality of being "in Christ!'
This prayer and desire by St. Patrick and the premise of being ‘in Christ’ (being convinced of our sin state and separateness from Christ which drives one to repentance and faith in His ‘merited’ ability to forgive bc of His holiness and Christ’s active obedience), is the heart that Christ so loves and is the ‘lining up’ of our life with Christ which the scriptures speak of in Galatians 5:25
[25] If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
This is the essential ‘orientation’ of our heart to receive the ‘fruit of the spirit’ and to reflect the image of Christ - namely love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
