Then an argument broke out among them about which of them should be regarded as the greatest. - Luke 22:24 (NAB)
Three trees - similar in size, shape and location - stood along the road of life. "Which one of us is best?" the trees argued. The purple tree said she was brightest. The green tree said he was closest to the house. The auburn tree said he was the biggest. In reality, their individual beauty was displayed best by standing together, alongside each other. Similar, but each uniquely different.
Lord, help us not to compare ourselves to those around us. Instead, help us to ask how we can best glorify You in our common place along life's road.
Understand this well: there is something holy, something divine hidden in the most ordinary situations, and it is up to each one of you to discover it. ~ St. Josemaria Escriva
